Love my crazy life

The last week was nuts! We picked up Nicky on Sunday, and his friend Leland was here nearly every day. We had a sleepover planned for Thursday, and had hoped to roast hot dogs and make smores, but got rained out. So instead I cooked the hot dogs on the grill, made rootbeer floats, and George made smores in the microwave. The two boys followed that up with a movie. They had a good time, and George and I hope to not do that again for awhile. Those two boys can be a handful.

On Friday, George went and picked up Jackson. He will be starting school and his full time job soon, so that might be the last visit we have with him for awhile. It’s hard to believe he is practically an adult. He turns eighteen on the eighteenth.

Friday, late afternoon, I got a phone call from Rick, my bio-dad. He had been looking for a car and had found one north of Grand Island. He thought he would be in trouble if they didn’t stop in for a visit. He was correct in assuming so. I would have been a little hurt. So they popped in for a visit on Saturday. Mom even stopped in. I later found out Dad and my brother had driven by and not stopped, and yes I am a little sad about that.

Saturday night was the last “late night swim” at the pool. We had a nice turn out. I had purchased 150 glow sticks at the beginning of the season that hadn’t gotten used yet. So Kasey and I decided better late than never. The kids really enjoyed retrieving them from the pool. Once they would get all of them out, Kasey and I would gather them all up and toss them back in. We only smacked a few swimmers with them. LOL!

Sunday, we took the two boys back to Omaha. We stopped in York on the way home only to find Jack’s wallet in the back seat. Ugh! We called to let him know we had it and would be mailing it back, but Jack and his mother insisted he had to have it, so a six hour round trip was turned into ten.

I’m really loving the cooler weather we have had the past few days, but I hear it’s not meant to last. The weather man says it will be more than 100º by the weekend. I hope he is lying. X’s & O’s.
