For the first time in several years, Rock Hills High school will field its own cross country team. In prior years, student athletes competed with the Pike Valley team as part of a cooperative program. Enough students expressed an interest in the sport this year to form a stand alone team.
Hannah Simmelink is the senior class representative. Kobi Bowers and Tristyn Reynolds are the junior class members. Kiplee Kussman and Spencer Lindberg are sophomores. The freshman class representation comes from Cruz Navarro, Noah Eakins, Trey Reynolds and Chloe Rothchild.
Shannon Meiers is the first-year coach.
The team opens their 2023 season, Thursday, Aug. 31, at the Tescott Invitational.
