RHHS volleyball splits a pair

The Rock Hills High School volleyball team visited Beloit last Tuesday for a triangular match with Natoma and St. John’s-Tipton.

Rock Hills hosted a triangular match at Mankato Tuesday with Osborne and Thunder Ridge. Match results were unavailable at press time.

The Grizzlies swept Natoma in two sets, 25-19 and 25-13, to open the season with a win. They encountered long time nemesis St. John’s-Tipton. They kept it close but fell in two sets, 18-25 and 18-25.

Halle Mizner topped the kill list for Rock Hills with six against Natoma. Savannah Coil, Taygen Meier and Faith Reinert contributed two kills each. Bethany Simmelink had a kill.

Simmelink lanced through nine serves for aces. Mizner came through with four serves. Coil scored with an ace.

Simmelink was good for five digs. Dacey Beck cleaned up two digs. Ally Beck and Coil had a dig each.

Coil posted five kills against St. John’s Tipton. Mizner put up four kills. Meier, Reinert and Paige Zadina recorded one kill each. Coil served up three aces. Simmelink added two saves while D. Beck and Mizner accounted for an ace apiece.

A. Beck cleaned up with 10 digs for the Grizzlies. Mizner picked up five digs. Reinert listed three digs for the match. Coil finished with two digs. D. Beck and Simmelink had a dig each.

The Grizzlies head to the Solomon Tournament Saturday. Rock Hills visits Tescott Tuesday for a match.
