JC Health Dept. plans vaccine clinics

The Jewell County Health Department is anticipating the new COVID booster will be available this fall. It is not known when the boosters will be received, but it will be announced when the department has them.

Also, several people have inquired about the RSV vaccine. All the details are not known yet, but the department is working on that and will announce when the vaccine is available.

Flu clinics will be offered in October by the Jewell County Health Department. Clinic dates are:

Saturday, Oct. 14: 8 to noon, Jewell Corn Show

Tuesday, Oct. 17: 9:30 to 11:30 a.m., Esbon Guaranty State Bank; and 1 to 3 p.m., Burr Oak Guaranty State Bank

Wednesday, Oct. 18: 10 to noon, Mankato Community Center

Monday and Tuesday, Oct. 23 and 24: Rock Hills School for students and faculty

Flu vaccines will be available at the Jewell County Health Department beginning Monday, Oct. 2 by appointment only Monday through Thursday. Times are 8 to noon and 1 to 5 p.m. Call 785-378-4060 to set up an appointment. Be sure to bring your insurance card.

The Jewell County Health Department will conduct lab draws from 7 to 9:30 a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 14. People must have an appointment. A physician’s order is not required. Call 785-378-4060 to schedule one.
