SHS at Fairbury cross country

The Superior Middle and High School cross country teams competed at the Fairbury Invitational Thursday. They were running against Class B, C and D schools. Schools with runners at the high school meet were Auburn, Beatrice, Blue Hill, Deshler, Fairbury, Falls City, Fillmore Central, Franklin, Freeman, Lawrence-Nelson, Lincoln Standing Bear, McCool Junction, Pawnee City, Sandy Creek, Thayer Central, Tri County and Weeping Water.

There were runners from 12 middle schools competing at the meet.

The Superior boys team finished in 11th place, with 261 points, in the 12-team boys 5K.

Kash Wenske took 36th place with his time of 21:06.14 in the 99 runner boys varsity race. Carsyn Koening held 50th place with his time of 22:32.46. Ryder Cady was in 59th place with a time of 22:50.92. Brayton Meyer was in 68th place with his time of 23:48.72. Deylin Lawson had a time of 26:21.69. Ryan Kramp finished the race in 88th place with a time of 27:54.43. Ayron Grassman was in 99th place with his time of 33:54. The times of each team’s first four finishers is used to calculate the team score.

Victor Wagoner was in 48th place with his time of 10:03.21 in the 81 runner field for the 2400 meter middle school run. Levi Clark took 50th place with his time of 10:11.12. Carter Eitzmann was in 57th place with a time of 10:44.24.

Tenley Siebecker was in 19th place in the middle school 2400 meter run field of 59 runners with her time of 10:09.57. Haylee fuller recorded a time of 11:52,86 for 43rd place,

The Superior teams compete at the Fillmore Central Invitational today (Thursday). The meet will be run over the Hidden Hills Golf Club course at Geneva. Start time is listed as 4:40 p.m.
