Katrena Corcoran

Katrena Dawn Corcoran, the daughter of Michael and Dawn (Havens) Corcoran, was born on Jan. 15, 1988, in Phillipsburg, Kansas. She died Sept. 12, 2023, at the St. Elizabeth's Regional Medical Center at Lincoln, Nebraska at the age of 35 years, 7 months, 28 days.

Katrena attended school in Phillipsburg, WaKeeney and Oakley, Kansas. In her high school years, she was active in playing volleyball and basketball. She attended the University of Nebraska at Lincoln studying psychology. She also attended South Central Community College. Katrena worked in human resources as a recruiter.

Katrena was a wonderful and loving mother to Prestyn Lee Berks. She enjoyed shopping, her shoe collection, interior decorating, watching Prestyn in his sporting events especially football, she also enjoyed fishing.

She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Larry Havens, and Lloyd and Myrna Corcoran.

Survivors include her grandmother, Gloria Havens of Superior, Nebraska; father, Michael (Thonda T.J.) Corcoran of Phillipsburg; mother, Dawn (Von) Wehrman of Nelson, Nebraska; her son, Prestyn Lee Berks of Lincoln, Nebraska; siblings: Tava (Adam) Bowman of Lincoln, Nebraska; niece and nephews, Braylon and Adaya Bowman; and Abby (Cesar) Briseno of Sutton, Nebraska; nephews, Dalton, Daxton, and Dawson Briseno; aunt and uncles, Rodney and Karen Havens of Aurora, Nebraska; Marcia and Gary Doughman of Phillipsburg; and Mitzi Dotson Corcoran of Cottonwood, Arizona; other relatives and a host of friends.

Her funeral was held at 10:30 a.m., Friday, Sept. 15, from the Megrue-Price Funeral Home in Superior, with Royce Schott officiating.

Recorded music of "Jealous of The Angels" and "Go Rest High on That Mountain."

Visitation was held from 4 to 8 p.m. on Thursday with family present from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m.

Pallbearers were Jarrett Havens, Jayson Havens, Cesar Briseno, Adam Bowman, Travis Yoxall, Jayme Berks, Joshua Thayer and Jacob Thayer.

Interment was at 3 p.m. in the Norton Cemetery at Norton, Kansas.

Memorials are suggested to go to Prestyn Berks Education Fund.
