Madison Heusinkvelt (22) goes in for the kill against Sandy Creek at the South Central Nebraska Tournament, Monday.

The Superior High School volleyball team swept Sandy Creek, 25-12, 25-9 and 25-18, in three sets last Tuesday.

Sandy Creek and Superior met again in the opening round of the Southern Nebraska Conference tournament, Monday, with Superior sweeping the Cougars in two sets, 25-20 and 25-20, at Superior.

The Wildcats concluded tournament play at Milford Tuesday with match results unavailable at press time.

Reagan Meyers topped the kill list against Sandy Creek with eight. Ariana Heusinkvelt added five kills. Teegan Duncan and Madison Heusinkvelt listed four kills apiece. Halle Bargen came through with three kills. Lilly Edwards donated two kills. Cayce Barry had one kill.

Bargen zipped through two aces. Duncan and Meyers each scored with an ace.

Duncan came up with 13 digs. Mia Gardner accounted for eight digs. Bargen and Meyers handled seven digs each. Ariana Heusinkvelt contributed six digs. Faith Butler posted five digs. Edwards came up with three digs. M. Heusinkvelt had one dig.

Duncan and Meyers pounded down eight kills apiece against Sandy Creek Monday. A. Heusinkvelt posted two kills. Bargen, Edwards and M. Heusinkvelt registered a kill apiece.

Butler and Duncan each scored with an ace.

Gardner swept up 10 digs. Duncan landed nine digs. Meyers recorded five digs. Butler listed four digs.. Edwards and M. Hesuinkvelt had one dig each.

Superior opens sub-district play Monday at a location to be determined. Please check the Nebraska School Activities Association web page for updated site and team information.

The Wildcats are in sub-district C-2-8 along with Sutton, Thayer Central, Tri County and Wilber Clatonia. Thayer Central stands as the major obstacle for Superior in a bid for a spot at the district finals. The Wildcats are number 18 in the wildcard standings.
