Kevin Wulf

November 9, 2023

Kevin Jon Wulf, the youngest child of Kenneth and Loretta (Henry) Wulf, was born on July 21, 1963, in Superior, Nebraska. He died Oct. 30, 2023, at his home in Superior.

Kevin grew up on a farm outside of Guide Rock, Nebraska, with his parents, brother, Gary, and his sisters, Sandy and Theresa. Kevin liked growing up on the farm and taking care of the cows and calves. This was a passion that stayed with him into adulthood. His summers were spent on the road as a part of his dad’s (Wulf Custom Harvesting) crew. He enjoyed living in the trailers with hired hands and harvesting crops from Texas to Montana. Another favorite memory he had was staying the night with his grandpa, J.C. (John C Wulf), on many weekends.

Kevin attended 2R, a one room school house with all ages from K-6 being taught by one teacher. He graduated from Guide Rock High School in 1981. The main thing he liked about high school was playing basketball. After graduation, he continued living and working on the family farm.

Kevin was united in marriage to Carol (Petersen) Wulf on April 12, 1986 at Bethany Lutheran Church in Ruskin, Nebraska. This marriage was blessed with two children. Jon Christopher Wulf and Katrina Janelle Wulf.

Their first home was in Superior from 1986 to 1990. In 1990, they moved to their home outside of Cadams. This was Kevin’s happy place because he could finally have cows to take care of again.Eventually Kevin’s farm expanded to include a horse, goats, chickens, and many dogs and cats.

Kevin also started a lawn mowing business.

When Kevin wasn’t working, he enjoyed time with his couples card club.

Another big part of Kevin’s life was being involved with his children’s sports activities. He was at every t-ball, baseball, softball, wrestling meet, football, basketball or track event Jon and Katrina had. He even took a turn coaching Katrina’s grade school basketball team.

In 2008, the family moved to Superior. In 2010, Kevin and Carol got divorced. Kevin spent most of his remaining years in Superior.

Towards the end Kevin became very involved with the Men’s Bible Study group at the Living Faith Fellowship Church in Superior. Just days before he died, he accepted Christ as his Savior and committed himself to the Lord. God watched until Kevin was ready and then quickly and peacefully called him home.

Kevin was preceded in death by his parents, Kenneth and Loretta Wulf; and his brother-in-law, Jim Richardson.

He is survived by his son Jon, Wulf; his daughter, Katrina Wulf;  grandson, Greyson Jon Wulf, as well as his sisters, Theresa and Sandy; and brother, Gary.

His funeral was Monday, at the Williams Funeral Home in Superior with Pastor Jon Albrecht officiating. Interment will be at the Guide Rock Cemetery.
