Annual Veterans Day supper held

Veterans, their families and friends, were served a delicious meal at the Nelson American Legion on Veterans Day, Saturday, Nov. 11. The meal was prepared and served by members of the American Legion Auxiliary.

Following the meal, the group viewed a powerful Veterans Day video that outlined the astounding number of wartime and conflict deaths and injuries. In addition, there are an untold number of service men and women who remain missing in action or unidentified.

Veterans present introduced themselves and told their Branch of Service, number of years served, and areas in which they served. There were several retired service members present and many had served multiple tours of duty. During Chuck Tuttle’s closing remarks, he told of his years of service in the Air Force and of his tours of duty in Viet Nam.

The Nelson American Legion Unit 187 can certainly be proud of the service of its members.
