FHSU Math Relays Results

Rock Hills High School students traveled to Fort Hays State University on Thursday, November 9th.  Over 600 students participated from 48 Kansas high schools.  Rock Hills placed 2nd among 1A high schools.  Students took six different math tests throughout the morning.  Each student participated with students of the same grade level from all 1A through 6A schools.  

Number Sense: The senior team of Areielle Jacobs, Cooper Rhea, and Abbey Schleifer placed 12th in the Number Sense event along with Hannah Simmelink (1st), Savannah Coil (8th), Bethany Simmelink (16th), and Justin Luong (16th) placing as individuals. 

Trigonometry: The senior team of Areielle Jacobs, Cooper Rhea, and Abbey Schleifer placed 12th along with Hanna Simmelink placing 1st as an individual.

Algebraic Manipulations: The junior team of Faith Reinert, Jada Eilert, and Lilianna Ortiz placed 15th, the senior team of Areielle Jacobs, Cooper Rhea, and Abbey Schleifer placed 7th along with Hannah Simmelink (3rd) and Savannah Coil (11th) placing as individuals. 

Geometry: The junior team of Faith Reinert, Jada Eilert, and Lilianna Ortiz placed 14th and the sophomore team of Eli Welchel, Ethan Wirth, and Miley Havens placed 11th along with Savannah Coil (2nd) and Hanna Simelink (3rd) placing as individuals. 

Applications of Algebra: The senior team of Areielle Jacobs, Cooper Rhea, and Abbey Schleifer placed 10th and the junior team of Faith Reinert, Jada Eilert, and Lilianna Ortiz placed 13th along with Hannah Simmelink (1st), Ethan Wirth (8th), and Savannah Coil (12th) placing as individuals.

Calculations with Calculators: The junior team of Faith Reinert, Jada Eilert, and Lilianna Ortiz placed 13th and the sophomore team of Eli Welchel, Miley Havens, and Justin Luong placed 16th along with Hannah Simmelink (4th), Savannah Coil (5th), Bethany Simmelink (7th), and Ethan Wirth (11th) placing as individuals.
