Last Tuesday, 56 community members gathered at the Nelson Community Center for the annual Thanksgiving dinner. This was more than had been served in the past few years! Thank you to all who attended and brought in delicious side dishes to go with the traditional turkey meal!
The Lost Needle Quilters, with the financial help of the Senior Citizens group, prepared the mainstays of the meal – meat, potatoes and gravy, dressing and rolls and guests brought in the side dishes. After a welcome by Ruth Epley, Pastor Ivan Dean gave the table grace and the good food was served! The atmosphere at the center was one of holiday traditions with Thanksgiving and fall décor. Fellowship and laughter at the community center were uplifting!
Help with clean-up by volunteers was much appreciated by the Quilters. Several stayed after the time of fellowship to play cards as is the custom.
Join the fun on Tuesday afternoons if you have a free Tuesday afternoon!
