Barbara Wilson

Barbara Lou Wilson, 72, of Beloit, died Nov. 9, 2023. Born on June 21, 1951, Barbara’s life was characterized by a profound passion for others, a gentle kindness that touched all who knew her, and an unwavering spirit that inspired those around her.

Barbara was adopted in 1959 by Clyde Jr. and Phyllis Wilson, who raised her with a deep sense of love and family. She was the cherished sister of William Wilson, residing in Cawker City, and the adored aunt of Jerrod Wilson.

Barbara’s passion for service was evident in her professional life. She attended nursing school and became a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN), dedicating her life to the care and well-being of others. Her gentle kindness and unwavering commitment to her patients earned her much respect and gratitude in her field. The compassion she displayed in her work was not just a professional obligation but a reflection of her innate kindness and humanity.

Barbara’s interests painted a picture of a woman who enjoyed life in all its variety. She was an enthusiastic angler who found peace and tranquility in fishing. She liked Clamato beer and thrift store shopping. Barbara had an eye for unique and beautiful items, particularly fancy jewelry, which she wore with a style all her own. These interests were more than hobbies; they were expressions of her vibrant personality and zest for life.

Above all, Barbara was a woman who loved her family, her friends and her community. She cherished the time with her loved ones, understanding that these moments were the threads that wove the fabric of a fulfilling life.

Her home was often a haven for stray and injured animals, reflecting her belief that kindness should extend to all creatures, regardless of how small or insignificant they may seem.

Her funeral was at 10:30 a.m., Friday, Nov. 17, at Schoen Funeral Home. Inurnment followed at Randall Cemetery. Memorials may be made to Randall Community Church. Arrangements entrusted to Schoen Funeral Home and Monuments of Beloit. Online condolences to schoen fhm.com
