There has been an unusual find this week in a northern Jewell County field. Two dead buck deer were observed but there was no evidence of blood or signs the animals had been dragged to the disposal site. On closer examination, it was determined the deer had apparently been fighting and gotten their antlers tangled in the bottom wire that had been pulled from the landowners’ fence. Locked together, they eventually died.
