This area had a pretty quiet fall when it comes to wildfires but not so many months ago there were several major fires the area has not recovered from. Wildfires have become more common in Great Plains States where no-till farming is common and cedar trees spread aggressively.

Now Kansas residents and property owners can type their addresses into a new online tool from the Kansas Forest Service to better understand the danger that a wildfire could break out near their home, farm or business.
