While in Superior the Christmas storm of 2024 was retreating into our memory on Tuesday it was still of current concern in some areas of Nebraska.

Tuesday afternoon the Nebraska Department of Transportation reported Interstate 890 in both directions between Sidney and Exit 179 at North Platte was closed to all traffic except emergency vehicles because of the ongoing winter storm.

US 30 was also closed between North Platte and Sidney because blowing snow had reduced motorists’ visibility to zero.
