Michael Walker

January 25, 2024

Michael "Mike" Walker, age 40 and 10 days, of Hardy, Nebraska, crossed the finish line on Jan. 13, 2024, in Dallas, Texas, leaving behind a trail of cherished memories. Born on Jan. 3, 1984, in Superior, Nebraska, to his parents Michael Walker and Debra (Fuller) Walker. Mike was a true ray of sunshine in everyone's lives. With his uplifting spirit and contagious smile, he could light up the gloomiest room. He lived his life with a sense of adventure and had a warm and gentle demeanor that made his hugs truly special.

In his career, Mike was a man of many talents. He welded, managed an ethenol plant, and even ran circles as a fabricator for Strobel Racing. When it came to fencing, he was no ordinary wire bender - at Walker Fencing, he built fences that were a cut above the rest. As if that wasn't impressive enough, he was also pursuing a degree in nursing at Cloud County Community College. Talk about a man with many irons in the fire!

When he wasn't busy with his endeavors, Mike raced towards his passions. He revved up his engines with motocross, hunted for adventure and reeled in joy while fishing. Spending quality time with his wife, the love of his life, Debra Sanchez, gave him a whole other kind of thrill. And let's not forget about his love for Sturgis - he rode into the wild with a grin as big as the open road. Teaching his kids, Henry, Luis and Alex, a trick or two along the way was his specialty.

His life will be celebrated at 2 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 27, 2024, at in Price Funeral Home, in Superior, to honor Mike's vibrant journey. A post-event shindig will be held at Hardy Hall in Hardy, where tales of his adventures will surely echo through the room. Assisting the family in this bittersweet moment, Price Funeral Homes, Superior, is lending a caring hand.

Mike's illuminating presence will be greatly missed by his children Henry Walker of Esbon, Kansas, Luis and Alex Alvarado of Hardy, Anna (Sil Erik)Rodriguez of San Antonio, Texas, Monica Simpson (Robyn Antone) of Albuquerque, New Mexico, Gabbie (Travis) Bennett of Waskom, Texas, Rebecca De La Cruz of Waskom, Texas; grandchildren, Ian, Riley, Dakota Rodriquez, Kyliee and Savannah Simpson, Abel and Payton Bennett; sister Samantha (Justin) Prelle of Oklahoma; nephews, Lane and Grayson Prelle; Grandma Judy Walker of Norfolk, Nebraska; motocross family, and a host of family and friends.

Although Mike may have crossed the finish line, his spirit will continue to rev our engines. May he rest in peace, knowing he will forever brighten the hearts of those fortunate enough to have known and loved him.
