Wildcat boys hunt for a win

Friday, the Superior Wildcats trailed only slightly , but could never close the gap as they fell 36-31 to Red Cloud. At the end of the first quarter, the young team trailed by one point and the score was Superior 6, Red Cloud 7. But the trend continued, leaving the Wildcats once again with a loss.

Superior's loss was their third straight at home, leaving them with only one win and 13 losses. They average 27.7 points per game which simply has not been enough to win.

Colten Butler, a sophomore, continues to lead the Wildcats. The team is hunting for their first win since Dec.15.

As for Red Cloud, the win was their fourth in a row, which raised their record to 4-8.The team was lead by underclassman Gage Ely, who scored 13 points along with five assists and four steals.

Last Tuesday, the Wildcats played the St. Cecilia Bluehawks in a non-conference game in Hastings. The Wildcats lost 33 to 65. Colten Bultler scored 12 points, Dayne Clark 11, Jaren Gilbert 6, Mason Korb 3 and Declan Miller 1.
