Spring cleanup day scheduled April 22

The Jewell City Council met last Monday. Those in attendance were Mayor Darrell Bohnert, Council members Don Delzeit, Josh Burks, Gaye Daniels, Derek Birdsell, Bob Freeman, and Kristie Anderson, city clerk.

James Reed, code enforcement officer, was absent. Reed submitted a written report of the properties he is working with to get up to code.

Jerod McMillan provided the monthly maintenance report. McMillan mentioned working on tapping the waterline to put in a new meter. McMillan also mentioned other projects he is working on.

Kristie Anderson presented the monthly clerk’s report. Anderson told of the delinquent dog tags and delinquent utility payment. Anderson also mentioned the Gypsy Pony Mobile Bar is serving at the concert in April and needs approval to get a special event liquor license permit. The council approved the liquor license permit for the Gypsy Pony Mobile Bar

The land bank board presented the minutes from their last meeting.

In unfinished business, Bohnert gave an update on the city office locks and computer programs.

In other business, Anderson said spring cleanup day will be held Monday, April 22. Anderson presented a design plan from the Moyer family to finish around Terry Moyer Memorial cross at Emerson Lake. The plan was approved.

For the Community Center, Bohnert said the metal edging around the flower bed is needing replaced.
