Last Wednesday, the South Heartland Board of Health presented their annual public health awards to individuals who are furthering the work of public health. The presentation followed a board of health meeting held at the Hastings Public Library. Awardees included area school nurses in the health district. Megan McMeen, Superior, and Jaycee Schroer, Nelson, were awardees from the area.
Others who received awards were Michelle Batterman, PA-C, Hastings Family Care; Terry Julian, HPS Wellness coordinator; and Peggy Meyer of Superior, a former board member and huge public health and mental wellness supporter.
