Marion Ilene Sather, 98, was preceded in death by husband, Marvin, and son, Larry. She is survived by Clifford and Gary (Barb). She was born on a farm near Big Lake, Minnesota, on March 26, 1925, the youngest child of Alfred and Ida (Arneson) Jacobson. Marion was baptized, confirmed and married in the Lutheran Church of River Falls, Wisconsin.

On Aug. 3, 1947, she married Marvin Sather. To this union three sons were born: Gary, Clifford and Larry. Marion had nine grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren.

Marion had a career in elementary education that lasted for 30 years.

Marion died Jan. 5, 2024, at Ridgewood Retirement Home in Bennington, Nebraska.

Her funeral will be held at 11 a.m., Saturday, March 30, at the Community Center in Nelson, Nebraska, with Royce Schott officiating.

For those not attending the funeral, there will be fellowship time and a meal with family. Come and go from 12 to 2:30 p.m. at the Community Center.

Music will be "The Old Rugged Cross," "Amazing Grace" and "A Closer Walk With Thee."

Honorary pallbearers will be her grandchildren.

Inurnment will be in the Nelson Cemetery, Nelson, Nebraska.

Memorials are suggested to Nuckolls County 4-H, or Nelson Elementary School.
