SHS track opens outdoor season

The Superior High School boys and girls track and field teams opened their outdoor track season at the Sutton Invitational at Sutton High School last Tuesday. The girls team finished in seventh place, with 37 points, in the 11 team field of Shelby-Rising City, Osceola, Hastings St. Cecilia, Doniphan-Trumbull, Shelton, Heartland, Centura, Sandy Creek, Gibbon and Sutton. The boys team earned no team points for the meet.

The Wildcats competed at the Falcon Track Invitational hosted by Wilcox-Hildreth High School Friday. The girls team finished in seventh place, with 34 points, in the 11 team field of Elm Creek, Loomis, Overton, Axtell, Cambridge, Arapahoe, Amherst, Silver Lake and Wilcox-Hildreth. The Red Cloud girls team did not score any points. The boys team finished in 10th place with 11 points.

Khloe Mundorf earned fifth place points in the girls 100 meter dash at the Sutton meet with her time of 13.62 seconds. Madison Heusinkvelt posted a time of 14.16 seconds. Jordan Duncan had a time of 14.71 seconds. Neveah Williams finished with a time of 16.24 seconds.


Mundorf added a fifth place finish in the 200 meter dash with her time of 26.59 seconds. Sadie Cornell listed a time of 31.35 seconds. Maddi Bargen came in at 31.71 seconds. Evah Roberts had a time of 32.7 seconds.

Faith Butler landed fifth place points in the 400 meter dash with her time of 1:04.06. Halle Bargen crossed the finish line at 1:10.12. Ava Kirchhoff put up a time of 1:21.18. Faith Pedersen was in with her time of 1:31.04.

Cora Schnakenberg completed the 300 meter hurdles with a time of 56.13 seconds. The Wildcats entered two teams in the 4 x 100 meter relay event. Team one, comprised of Madison Heusin-kvelt, Mundorf, Duncan and Cornell secured fourth place with their time of 54.84 seconds. Team two, made up of Thalia Griljava, Trinity Cordis, Jaialynn Leuking and Rayne Biltoft posted a time of 1:06.61.


The 4 x 400 meter relay team of Schnakenberg, M. Bargen, H. Bargen and Faith Butler posted a time of 4:39.55.

M. Heusinkvelt was awarded the second place points in the shot put for her toss of 36’7”. Ariana Heusinkvelt earned fourth place points with her toss of 32’3.5”. Mia Gardner listed a toss of 30’11”. Lilly Edwards had a toss of 30’5.5”.

M. Heusinkvelt finished in fourth place in the discus with her throw of 107’10”. Gardner took the sixth place points with her throw of 99’8”. Reagan Meyers had a throw of 86’4.5”. Roberts had a throw of 75’4”


Cayce Barry took seventh place in the high jump with a height of 4’5”. Schnakenberg listed a height of 4’6” for the event. Meyers cleared 4’2”.

Butler cleared the bar at 8’ for a third place finish in the pole vault. Duncan was in eighth place with her 7’6” effort.

Cornell landed fourth place points in the long jump with her distance of 14’11. Kirchhoff covered 13’7.5”.

Kirchhoff covered 23’4.5” in the triple jump.

Dayne Clark had a time of 13.03 seconds in the boys 100 meter dash at the Sutton meet. Jaren gilbert recorded a time of 14.12 seconds. Dylan Edwards listed a time of 14.43 seconds.


Lincoln Sander crossed the finish line with a time of 25.54 seconds for the 200 meter dash. Thomas Mathis listed a time of 17.06 seconds. Declan Miller registered a time of 30.43 seconds.

Mason Korb had a time of 1:04.07 and Brayton Meyer listed a time of 1:06.55 in the 400 meters.

Gabe Zavala had time of 6:29.02 for the 1600 meter run. He recorded a time of 15.53.07 for the 3200 meter run.

The 4 x 400 meter relay team of Meyer, Mathis, Lincoln Sander and Kyler Boyles finished with a time of 4:09.96.

Marcus Martin had a toss of 32’8.25 for the shot put. Christian Osweiler had an effort of 32’7.25”. Justice Sander had a best toss of 30.5”. David Hodges hit the 20 mark.

Clark hit 100’2” with his throw in the discus. Korb had a best throw of 92’5”. Gilbert landed a throw of 91’10”. Miller placed the discus at 91’5” with his best throw.


L. Sander covered 17’2.5” for the long jump. Meyer had a best jump of 15’5”.

Mathis took seventh place in the triple jump where he covered 35’9”. Edwards covered 29’.75”.

A. Heusinkvelt took fifth place in the Wilcox-Hildreth 100 meter dash with her time of 13.54 seconds. Mundorf finished in 13.73 seconds. M. Bargen had a time of 14,73 seconds.

Mundorf listed a time of 28.94 for the 200 meter dash. Kirchhoff had a time of 30.74 seconds. Duncan had a time of 32.14 seconds.

Butler earned sixth place in the 400 meter dash with her time of 1:06.39. H. Bargen finished with her time of 1:21.42.

Schnakenberg nabbed seventh place in the 300 meter hurdles with her time of 57.9 seconds.


The 4 x 100 meter relay team of M. Heusinkvelt, Mundorf, H. Bargen and A. Heusinkvelt were the first place team with their time of 53.9 seconds. The 4 x 400 meter relay team of Schnakenberg, H, Bargen, M. Bargen and Butler held down third place with their time of 4:43.88.

M. Heusinkvelt was in fourth place in the shot put with her toss of 36’3.5”. A. Heusinkvelt was in sixth place with her toss of 33.9.5”. Lilly Edwards had a toss of 29’10.5”.

M. Heusinkvelt had a best throw of 97’11 for the discus. Gardner had a throw of 93’9”. Meyers had a throw of 79’9”.

Barry and Meyers each cleared 4’4” for the high jump.

Butler earned third place points in the pole vault when she cleared 8’. Duncan picked up fourth place points with her 8’ effort. Lauren Tietjen cleared 6”


Kansas Public Notices

Kirchhoff had a leap of 14’.5” for the long jump. She covered 28”11” for the triple jump.

L. Sander had a time of 12.79 seconds for the boys 100 meter dash at the Falcon Invite.. Mathis finished with a time of 13.51 seconds. Arteaga listed a time of 13.57 seconds.

Mateus had a time of 27.26 seconds for the 200 meter dash. Meyer had a time of 28.1 seconds. Gilbert had a time of 29.37 seconds.

L. Sander posted a time of 58.68 seconds for the 400 meter dash. Mason Korb had a time of 1:065.

Boyles took eighth place in the 800 meter run with his time of 2:23.6.

Gabe Zavala had a time of 5:52.9 for the 1600 meter run. Kramp recorded a time of 6:2.5. Deylin Lawson had a time of 14:39.6.

Kramp earned fifth place points in the 3200 meter run with his time of 12:24.24. Zavala crossed the finish line with a time of 14:3.8. Lawson registered a time of 14:39.

The 4 x 100 meter relay team of Arteaga, Mathis, Clark and Mateus was in seventh place with their time of 50.25 seconds.

The 4 x 400 meter relay team of L. Sander, Boyles, Meyer and Korb was in seventh place with their time of 4:15.15.

Mathis secured fourth place in the shot put with his toss of 36’10.”. Boyles claimed fifth place with his toss of 36’6.75”. Clark wrapped up sixth place with his toss of 36’5”.

Clark accounted for sixth place in the discus with his throw of 112’5”. Korb had a best throw of 81’4”. Miller had a best throw of 77’4”.

L. Sander had a leap of 18’4” for the long jump. Meyer covered 15’4”. Mateus had a best leap of 15’3.5”/

Superior travels to Sandy Creek, Tuesday, April 2, for the Sandy Creek invitational.
