The Rock Hills High School boys and girls track and field teams opened the 2024 season at the Bennington High School Invitational Thursday.

The teams competed at the St. John's Invitational at Beloit Tuesday. Results were unavailable at press time.

The boys team finished in ninth place, with 18 points, in the 10 team field of Eli-Saline, Bennington, Clifton-Clyde, Rural Vista, Canton-Galva, Lincoln, Frederic Remington-Whitewater, Wakefield School and Herrington. The girls team finished in fifth place, with 38 points, in the 10 team field.

Camden Ward posted a time of 12.47 seconds for the boys 100 meter dash. Kaiden Wurm had a time of 16.29 seconds.

Justin Luong was in seventh place in the 800 meter run with his time of 2:23.48. Kobi Bowers had a time of 2:25.9.

Trystyn Reynolds listed a time of 5:22.02 for the 1600 meter run. Luong finished in 5:32.35.

The 4 x 100 meter relay team of Ward, Isaiah Ridgeway, Cooper McDill and Nate Meyers earned second place points with their time of 46.31 seconds.

The 4 x 800 meter relay team of Reynolds, McDill, Luong and Bowers secured second place with their time of 9:19.89.

Mason McMains was seventh in the shot put with his toss of 37'9.5". Eli Whelchel had a best toss of 35'7.5". Aaron Underwood had a best toss of 34'4.5".

McMains had a best throw of 102'7' for the discus. Underwood registered a best throw of 88'4". Wurm had a best throw of 85'6".

Whelchel had a best throw of 112'9" for the javelin. Ridgeway had a best throw of 106'8".

Ward was seventh in the high jump with his height of 5'8".

Meyer earned fifth place points in the long jump with his leap of 18'10.25".

Bethany Simmelink held down fourth place in the girls 100 meter dash with her time of 13.35 seconds. Grace Ayers listed a time of 14.69 seconds.

B. Simmelink claimed second place in the 200 meter dash with her time of 27./74 seconds.

Chloe Rothchild finished fifth in the 400 meter dash with her time of 1:15.15.

Hannah Simmelink secured fifth place in the 800 meter run with her time of 3:01.46. Alivia Lindberg was in seventh place with her time of 3:06.58. Rothchild listed a time of 3:28.08 for the event.

Lindberg was in eighth place in the 1600 meter run with her time of 6:52.18. Peyton Zadina recorded a time of 8:06.07 for the race.

The 4 x 100 meter relay team of Halle Mizner, Savannah Coil, B, Simmelink and Ayers held down .third place with their time of 58.8 seconds.

The 4 x 800 meter relay team of B. Simmelink, Mizner, Lindberg and H. Simmelink earned a third place finish with their time of 11:52.7.

Mizner was in fourth place in the high jump with the height of 4'*'. Ayers was fifth in the long jump with her leap of 13'11".

Coil earned fourth place points in the triple jump with her combined distance of 28'8.5".
