Paul David Alber, 27, of rural Guide Rock, died Friday, April 19, 2024 at his home. Paul was born Nov. 25, 1996, to David and Tamara (Maupin) Alber in Hastings, Nebraska. He attended the Life Skills education program in Hastings. Paul graduated from Superior High School in 2014.             Paul enjoyed being outside especially riding in the tractor when he was younger. He was a member of the Warrior 4-H Club. He was baptized, Dec. 22, 1996. He was a lifelong member of Calvary Lutheran Church of Rosemont, Nebraska. As Paul got older, he showed more and more attitude. He would cross his arms, his legs, and give the "glare" since he could not talk. He traveled with his family to many places including Tennessee, North Carolina, Colorado to visit grandparents, Yellowstone, the Black Hills and Disney World.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Edgar and Barbara Alber, and uncle, Randall Alber. 

Survivors include his parents, David and Tamara (Maupin) Alber of Guide Rock; sisters and their spouses, Sara and Derek Wedemeyer of Ravenna, Nebraska; Christa and Mac McCutcheon of Hardy; grandparents Wendell and Betty Maupin of Loveland, Colorado; aunts, uncles, cousins, a host of extended family, and many friends.  

His funeral will be held at 10 a.m., Friday, at Trinity Lutheran Church, Blue Hill, with Pastor Ronald Kuehner officiating. The burial will follow at Zion Lutheran cemetery, of rural Lawrence. Visitation will be from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. with family present from 6 to 8 p.m., on Thursday, April 25, at Merten-Butler Mortuary, Blue Hill, and one hour prior to the service at the church. In lieu of flowers, memorials can be directed to the Orphan Grain Train or the Lawrence Fire and Rescue.
