Lawrence-Nelson Class of 2024

This Saturday 17 students of Lawrence-Nelson High School will walk the stage at the school in Nelson to receive their diploma at 4 p.m. This year’s graduates are Bayln Bargen, Sydney Biltoft Maddison Bissell-Elwess, Bailey Ceder, Danyelle Church, Roy Davidson, Nathan Elledge, Riley Funk, Claire Himmelberg, Connor Janda, Jacob Kathman, Andrew Koehler, Rocky Miller, Nolan Ostdiek, Jessica Sole, Emily Watts, and Clay Williams. The Class of 2024 salutatorian is Connor Janda and valedictorian, Clay Williams.

Jacob Kathman plans to attend Central Community College in Hastings to study HVAC. Scholarships he received are CCC Nebraska Careers Scholarship and CCC Committed to Your Success Scholarship.

Andrew Koehler plans to attend Central Community College in Hastings to study welding. Andrew received the Nuckolls County Foundation scholarship

Rocky Miller signed with Nebraska Wesleyan to participate in the football program and will be majoring in K-12 physical education. Scholarships received are the President’s Scholarship, NWU Achievement Scholarship, Access NWU Scholarship, Rena Clingman Memorial, and Charlotte Peckham Walters.

Nolan Ostdiek plans to attend SCC in Beatrice to study agriculture management and production. Nolan received the Nuckolls County Foundation Scholarship.

Jessica Sole will attend Coastal Carolina Community College and participate in their dental assisting program. Jessica received the following scholarships: Nuckolls County Foundation, Diane Rose Sole, and the Lawrence-Nelson Teammates scholarships.

Emily Watts will be attending Northeast Community College to study agri-business. She received the Nuckolls County Foundation Scholorship.

Clay Williams will be attending the University of Nebraska at Lincoln to study finance. Clay received the following scholarships: Regents Scholar (UNL), Warren and Velda Wilson Foundation, Nuckolls County Foundation, Roy and Velma Schiermeyer Rorabaugh, Lawrence-Nelson Alumni, Nelson Community Club, and the Ryan Pittman Memorial.

Bayln Bargen plans to attend SCC in Beatrice. He received the Nuckolls County Foundation Scholarship, and Ryan Pittman Memorial.

Sydney Biltoft will be attending CCC in Grand Island to study healthcare. She received the following scholarships; Nuckolls County Foundation, Rena Clingman Memorial, Diane Rose Sole, Kendall Schendt Memorial, Evelene Brodstone Scholarship, Pat and Duane Ehlers, Nelson Community Club, Maddison Bissell-Elwess, and Nuckolls County Foundation.

Bailey Ceder will attend the University of Wyoming in the fall to study animal science and possibly microbiology. The scholorships Bailey received are UW Brown and Gold Commitment, Nebraska Historical Society, Kansas Quater Horse Association, Rena Clingman Memorial, Nuckolls County Foundation, Lawrence-Nelson FFA Alumni, Lawrence-Nelson Alumni, PEO Chapter J, and Farmer’s & Merchants Bank.

Danyelle Church plans to attend Central Community College of Hastings to study early childhood education. She received the Nuckolls County Foundation Scholorship.

Roy Davidson plans to seek employment after graduation. He received the Nuckolls County Foundation, and Pat and Duane Ehlers scholarships.

Nathan Elledge will be attending SCC Milford in the fall to study diesel technology. He received the following scholarships: Squirrel Hunt Scholarship, Warren and Velda Wilson Foundation, Nebraska Weed Control Association, and the Nuckolls County Foundation.

Riley Funk will be attending Fort Hays State University. She received the Nuckolls County Foundation Scholarship and the South Central Cattlemen scholarship.

Claire Himmelberg will be studying the art of cosmetology at the College of Hair Design. She received the following scholarships: Warren and Velda Wilson Foundation, Nuckolls County Foundation, Lawrence American Legion, and the Lawrence Community Club.

Connor Janda will be attending UNL and majoring in agri-business. Connor received the following: David Distinguished Scholars, Cornhuskers State Delegate, CASNR Scholarship,

Nuckolls County Pheasants Forever, Little Blue NRD, Warren and Velda Wilson Foundation, Rena Clingman Memorial, Sons of the Lawrence American Legion, South Central Cattlemen, Lawrence-Nelson FFA Alumni, Gene Kucera Memorial, Lawrence Community Club, Jake Kleen, and the Brodstone Hustle Scholarship.
