Area residents are invited to participate virtually in the Tyler Vanderheiden Memorial Run anywhere and anytime Friday through Sunday. The actual run will depart from Cody Park in North Platte at 8 a.m. Saturday and will feature two-mile and five-mile road routes.
The race honors the memory of Tyler Vanderheiden, a young man who struggled with mental illness. The race is sponsored by his family, the Nebraska Game and Parks Commission and Platte River Fitness.
