RHHS track at state meet at Wichita

The Rock Hills High School boys and girls track and field teams competed at the Kansas 1A meet staged at Cessna Stadium located on the campus of Wichita State University at Wichita. The meet was held Friday and Saturday.

The boys team finished tied for 22nd place, with nine points, in the field of 55 teams which scored points. The girls team failed to earn any points in their events. First place earned a team 10 points with eighth place earning one point.

Halle Mizner was in 10th place, with her height of 5', for the girls high jump.

Bethany Simmelink took ninth place in the 200 meter dash preliminary heat with her time of 26.64 seconds, one spot from the final heat.

The girls 4 x 800 meter relay team of B. Simmelink, Mizner, Alivia Lindberg and Hannah Simmelink finished in 10th place with their time of 10:33.04.

Camden Ward finished in eighth place in the boys 110 meter hurdles with his time of 16.58 seconds. He competed in the boys high jump recording a height of 5'8" for 14th place.

The boys 4 x 100 meter relay team of Isaiah Ridgeway, Ward, Cooper McDill and Nate Meyers finished in 13th place with their time of 45.93 seconds.

Eli Whelchel had a throw of 146'2" for 14th place in the javelin.

The boys 4 x 800 meter relay team of Trystyn Reynolds, Justin Luong, Kobi Bowers and McDill took home a ninth place finish with their time of 8:49.93.

With the exception of senior Hannah Simmelink, all the qualifiers are underclassmen who will have the opportunity to return next season.
