SHS Wildcats host BDS

The Bruning, Davenport, Shickley Storm volleyball team came to Wildcat territory on Thursday, Sept. 10. It was a very tense and exciting match to watch or listen to on KRFS Radio with Cory Kopsa's coverage. The first set seemed like a marathon. Both teams fought very hard, B-D-S won in four sets: 33-35, 25-20, 25-21 and 27-25.

Varsity statistics were:

Cailyn Barry: six kills of 19 hit attempts; two ace serves of 15 serves; two blocks; one dig; two assists of seven sets.

Alexa Cox: seven hit attempts; one block; two sets.

Sierra Blackburn: seven kills of 13 hit attempts; 17 serves; two blocks; 14 digs; 22 assists of 132 sets.

Ella Gardner: two kills of 12 hit attempts; two ace serves of 18 serves; two blocks; one dig; 23 assists of 69 sets; 10 serve receives.

Emma Henderson: two kills of 22 hit attempts; four digs; two sets.

Shayla Meyer: 32 kills of 84 hit attempts; 11 serves; one block; 22 digs; two assists of five sets; 32 serve receives.

Atlee Kobza: three hits; 12 serves; 19 digs; 20 serve receives.

Teegan Duncan: two hit attempts.

Sadie Rempel: one hit attempt; 17 serves; five digs; 24 serve receives.

The Reserve team played one game vs. BDS. Mikynzie Hansen had some good attacks on the right side. Lily Edwards and Cayce Barry have been progressing a lot in the middle blocker position and have had some very aggressive attacks. They played a great first set, point-by-point the entire game, but ended up losing 22-25. The Cats also lost the second set but are growing all the time.
