Mankato land bank may ease housing shortage

With the goal of addressing the community’s housing shortage, The Mankato City Council adopted an ordinance last year creating the Mankato Land Bank. Community residents appointed to serve on the land bank board include Susan Abel, Jack Alcorn, Kevin Ost, Nadine Smith and Wade Alexander. Barry Parsons, Daryl Miller and Jenny Russell serve as advisors.
Promoters of the land bank believe it has the potential to improve the community’s housing stock and encourage more people to live in Mankato.
