Raider Golf Team begins 2021 season

 


The L-N High School Golf Team began its Spring season last week, getting a chance to compete before the Easter holiday.

As traditional, they traveled a few miles south to Superior to be one of 14 teams in the Superior Invitational Meet.

Sandy Creek won the event with placing 2nd, 3rd, 4th and 13th among the 67 golfers taking part in the Meet. Their team score was 356. Heartland was second with a 385 score.

Wyatt Brockman competed for Lawrence-Nelson at the Superior Invitational at the Superior Country Club last Thursday. The Raiders finished in a tie for eighth place in the 13 team field.

The Raider's team finished in a tie for 8th with the Hastings High JV team and had a score of 418. Blue Hill had a score of 417 for 7th place and Red Cloud was 10th with a score of 432.

The four member team for the Raiders were: Krayton Kucera and Wyatt Brockman who tied for 20th place each with a score of 99; Conner Janda recorded a 104 for 28th and Blake Wroughton placed 47 out of the 67 golfers with a 116.

The boys had a chance to get a little experience before their first major meet of the year when they traveled to Superior on Monday, March 29. No team scored were given for this event, but for the first round of golf for the Raiders this season, the scores were: Varsity: Krayton Kucera 56, Conner Janda 56, Wyatt Brockman 58, Blake Wroughton 70; The Junior Varsity scores were: Wyatt Hajny 61, Clay Williams 71, Nathan Elledge 81.

The season continues with weekly competition of at least one meet a week. This week they traveled to Sandy Creek.
