L-N golf team at Sandy Creek Invite

The Lawrence-Nelson High School golf team brought home a fifth-place finish from the Sandy Creek Invitational played at the Crooked Creek Country Club, Clay Center, Friday. The match was rescheduled from last Tuesday because of weather concerns. The Raiders were at Red Cloud Tuesday, with match results unavailable at press time.

The Lawrence-Nelson team turned in a score of 385 for the 18-hole match. Other schools competing at the match were the Sandy Creek junior and varsity teams, Blue Hill, Bruning-Davenport-Shickley, Doniphan-Trumbull, Fillmore Central, High Plains Community, Red Cloud, Superior and Thayer Central.

The four lowest individual scores comprise the team total. Connor Janda was the low Raiders golfer with his round of 88. He finished ninth in the individual standings. Krayton Kucera was in with his round of 99. Wyatt Hajny shot a round of 101. Wyatt Brockman registered a round of 107 while Blake Wroughton finished up with a round of 114.

The Raiders travel to Hastings today (Thursday) for the St. Cecilia Invitational to played on the Southern Hills Golf Course.
