L-N golf team competes at state tourney

 


The Lawrence- Nelson High School boys golf team competed at the Class D state golf match played over the Lake Maloney Golf Club course at North Platte last Tuesday and Wednesday,

The Raiders finished in seventh place, with a team score of 728, in the 15 team field of Overton, North Platte St. Patrick’s, Pender, Howells-Dodge, Thayer Central, Loomis, Southern Valley, Humphrey-St. Francis, Wausa, Crawford, Perkins County, Neligh-Oakdale, Stanton and Hemingford for the 36-hole match.

Weather conditions were far from ideal for the match with Wednesday posing a challenge with windy conditions and autumnal temperatures.

Krayton Kucera led the Lawrence-Nelson scoring with rounds of 87 and 93 for a total of 180.

Toby Kotinek carded rounds of 87 and 95 for a two-round total of 183.

Connor Janda completed his tour with rounds of 88 and 97 for a total of 185.

Bayln Bargen listed rounds of 98 and 93 for his total of 191.

The future looks bright for the Raiders as there were no seniors on the team this season. All the state qualifiers will return next season for coach Jerad Niederklein.
