Dorothy Kottmeyer

 

Dorothy Mae Kottmeyer, the daughter of William and Edna (Edson) Hughes, was born on May 23, 1943, in Superior, Neb. She died on June 6, 2022 at the Brodstone Memorial Hospital at Superior, at the age of 79 years, 14 days.

Dorothy attended school in Superior and graduated from Superior High School. She was an active member of the First Baptist Church, in Superior. On Dec. 31, 1961, she was united in marriage to Donald Kottmeyer in Superior and to this union three children were born.

She cherished time with her family and friends, and entered the Good Samaritan Society in May of 2021 because of her health.

She was preceded in death by her parents, William and Edna; husband, Don on Aug. 6, 2013; sister Beverly Rogers; and brothers, John and Jim Hughes.

Survivors include her children, Joan (Keith) Shellhase of Ord, Neb .; Phillip (Mary) of Lincoln, Neb., and Brenda (Kent) Rumery of Skiatook, Okla .; eight grandchildren: Matthew (Erin) Shellhase, Andi Shellhase, Lexus (Austin) Brown, Benjamin, and MaKenzie Kottmeyer, Taylor (Caleb) Rumery, Kara and Kailey Rumery; two great- grandchildren: Sophie Shellhase and Gentry Brown; nieces, nephews, other relatives and a host of friends.

Her funeral will be held at 11 a.m.,on Saturday, June 11, from the Megrue-Price Funeral Home in Superior with Pastor Gordon Harper and Fred Meyers officiating.

Visitation will be held on Friday from 4 to 8 p.m., with the family present to greet friends from 5 to 7 p.m.

Pallbearers will be David Rogers, Mike Rogers, Chris Hughes, Matt Shellhase, Ben Kottmeyer and Grant Rogers.

Interment will be in the Evergreen Cemetery at Superior.

In Lieu of flowers memorials are suggested to go in care of the family.
