Father Harrison moves to Roseland

Representatives of the Knights of Columbus lead the Corpus Christi procession in Lawrence, Sunday afternoon, with Rev. Father Corey Harrison carrying the Monstrance to one of three altars in the village. The feast of Corpus Christi was established in order to create a feast focused solely on the Holy Eucharist, emphasizing the joy of the Eucharist being the Body and Blood, Soul and Divinity of Jesus Christ. The procession started at Sacred Heart Church, moved on to three sites in the village where prayers and adoration were briefly held before the group returned to church for the final benediction.

Rev. Corey Harrison has been pastor of the three Catholic parishes in northwest Nuckolls County and southern Clay County. Father Harrison is one of 30 some priests in the Lincoln diocese who received new assignments this year. Moving day for all the priests was Monday. His new assignment is in Roseland where he will have two parishes plus a teaching assignment at St. Cecilia School in Hastings.

The new priest for the three parishes in this area is Father Jamie Hottovy.
