Ost qualifies for USATF Junior Olympic National Meet

 


Meili Ost competed July 9, at a USATF Junior Olympics regional qualifying track meet at Fort Osage High School in Blue Springs, Mo.  This multi-state meet included teams from Kansas, Oklahoma, Missouri and Arkansas. Meili, a member of the Kansas Flyers track team, competed in the 800-meter run and the 4x800-meter relay. Meili placed first in the 13 to 14 age division in the 800-meter run with a personal best time of 2:33.07. The 4x800-meter relay also scored a first place finish. These results qualified Meili to compete in the USATF Junior Olympics National meet in Sacramento, Calif., July 25 through 30.

Meili will be a seventh grader at Rock Hills Middle school and is the daughter of Kevin and Nikki Ost of Mankato.

Meili Ost, a member of the Kansas Flyers track team, competed in the 800-meter run and the 4x800-meter relay.
