The new year is bringing a number of new things and among them is the need to replace the license plates on motor vehicles and trailers registered in Nebraska.

Owners with plates expiring in January have or soon will have received a letter from Tami Sharp, the new Nuckolls County treasurer, reporting on the need to renew the licenses.

In one of her last official acts, Vicki Ensign, the retiring Nuckolls County treasurer, requested this newspaper's help in reminding the owners to look carefully at the renewal notices.
