Rock Hills Future Business Leaders of America attend conference

Rock Hills Future Business Leaders of America traveled to Topeka last Wednesday to attend and compete in the Kansas State Leadership Conference. The 12 attending members were given the opportunity to learn from, compete against, and network with other students from across the state of Kansas.

The Kansas Outstanding Chapter Award program is a state-level chapter recognition program that rewards points for chapter activity throughout the school year and to-ten placings at the conference. Rock Hills received third place in this competition against all schools in attendance, participating in many activities this year and also earned 24 top-ten placings.

These placings are as follows:

Indivdiual Events

Davin Coil: 10th Business Calculations, 8th Personal Finance, 7th Business Management, 5th Human Resource Management, and 1st Supply Chain Management

Hannah Simmelink: 6th Business Communications, 5th Publication Design, 4th Local Chapter Annual Business Report, 3rd Database & Design Applications, and 3rd Agribusiness

Tyler Hanson: 7th UX Design

Arielle Jacobs: 6th Supply Chain Management

Cooper Rhea: 6th Business Law

Allison Ost: 9th Introduction to Business Communications, 4th Introduction to Business Procedures, and 2nd Introduction to Financial Math

Faith Reinert: 10th Parliamentary Procedure

Savannah Coil: 4th Introduction to Business Communications, 3rd Word Processing, and 1st Spreadsheet Applications

Team Events

6th Hospitality & Event Management: Jacobs and Ost

4th Introduction to Business Presentation: B. Simmelink and S. Coil

4th Data Analysis: Simmelink and D. Coil

2nd Parliamentary Procedure: D. Coil, Navarro, H. Simmelink and Faith Reinert

FBLA allows four entries per state in each event to advance and compete at the National Leadership Conference to be held in Atlanta, Georgia in June. All individuals placing fourth or higher are guaranteed this opportunity and will be attending this event. These individuals are now focused on gathering the necessary funding and welcome any community contributions.
