Clara Bell Lemke

Clara Bell Lemke, the daughter of Fred and Nellie (Bigbee) Marcotte, was born on Sept. 9, 1931, in Formoso, Kansas. She died on Oct. 8, 2023, at The Pines at Blue Hill at Blue Hill, Nebraska, at the age of 92 years.

She attended school at Love- well, Kansas. On Sept. 9, 1950, she was married to George Andrew Lemke in Superior, Nebraska. To this union four children were born, Linda, Roger, Debra and Lonnie.

While raising her family, Clara also worked as a waitress and cook for many years at the Leslie Hotel and Hereford Inn.

Her hobbies included knitting, cooking and crocheting. She enjoyed going to the grandchildren's events.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, George, on Aug. 8, 1992; her siblings; and grandson, Nathan.

Survivors include her children Linda (Jim) Mousel of Hastings, Roger (Marcia) of Hastings, Debra (Travis) May of Superior and Lonnie (Tami) of Superior; 12 grandchildren: Shawn, Jennifer, Alex, Heath, Michelle, Michaela, Daren, Jessica, Stephanie, Andrew and Shane; 28 great-grandchildren; two great-great grandchildren; other relatives and a host of friends.

Her funeral was held at 10 a.m., on Friday, Oct. 20, 2023, from the Megrue-Price Funeral Home in Superior, Nebraska, with Royce Schott officiating.

Music was Alan Jackson's recordings of "In The Garden," "Old Rugged Cross" and "How Great Thou Art," and Merle Haggard's recording of "He Walks With Me."

Pallbearers were Shawn Mousel, Alex Mousel, Daren Lemke, Heath Lemke, Andrew Healey and Shane Healey.

Interment was in the Evergreen Cemetery at Superior, Nebraska.

Memorials are suggested to go to Aseracare Hospice in care of the family.
