Stacy Malone slowly recovering at home

February 29, 2024

Last week we reported on the brutal beating of Stacy (Stemper) Malone, a Nelson High School graduate.

An intruder entered the Malone home at Kearney, beat Mrs. Malone and left her for dead.

On Monday her father, Scott Stemper, shared the following status report on her recovery:

“Stacy went to the ENT doctor today so I’ll list out what they did and how she’s feeling per Stacy:”

• My nose is completely blocked he said on both sides so they have to do some sort of procedure.

• They had to clean my left ear out because he said it’s blocked really bad.

• He said they don’t predict any surgeries but he wasn’t expecting me to be blocked this bad.

• I had shots in my nose today so doctor could use a scalpel for cuts for procedure and a drain was placed in left side of the nose.

• Orbital fractures on the inside of both eyes.

• Almost passed out two times during procedure—light headed, sweating, woozy.

Stacy will go back today (Thursday) to get the drains removed. She was to see her vision doctor yesterday (Wednesday) but we didn’t have a report before this paper was printed.

She is still on blood thinners as they continue to monitor two arteries in her neck that could lead to her having a stroke. She is taking pain meds as needed.
