Cheryl Suhr, born Cheryl Ruth Dempsey on Aug. 18, 1942, died surrounded by family on April 4, 2024. Cheryl grew up on a farm near Montrose, where she participated in 4-H and was a cheerleader for her high school. She married her children’s father, Lanny, in 1964. They moved to Colorado soon thereafter.

Cheryl had a keen mind for numbers and worked in finance her whole career. She enjoyed singing and performing. In 1972, she found Sweet Adelines International. Cheryl sang in several award-winning quartets, was an esteemed coach. She was a certified arranger for the organization. She remained a...
