SHS track at conference meet at Sutton

 


The Superior High School track and field teams competed at the Southern Nebraska Conference meet at Sutton Saturday.

Teams from Fairbury, David City, Centennial, Heartland, Wilber-Clatonia, Fillmore Central, Sutton, Sandy Creek, Milford and Thayer Central participated.

The Superior girls finished in third place with 70.66 points. The boys were in 11th place with 11 points.

Khloe Mundorf took third place in the girls 100 meter dash with her time of 12.9 seconds. Sadie Cornell and Ariana Heusinkvelt ran preliminary heats but failed to advance to the final heat.

Madison Heusinkvelt, Ava Kirchhoff and Maddi Bargen ran 200 meter dash preliminary heats but failed to advance.

Faith Butler held sixth place in the 400 meter dash with her time of 1:02.8. Halle Bargen and Reagan Meyers ran preliminary heats but failed to advance.

H. Bargen finished in sixth place in the 800 meter run with her time of 2:33.66.

Cora Schnakenberg, Olivia Smullins and M. Bargen competed in the 100 meter hurdles but finished outside the points.

Schnakenberg grabbed the fourth place points in the 300 meter hurdlers with her time of 52.54 seconds. Smullins also competed.

The 4 x 100 meter relay team of Butler, Cornell, A. Heusinkvelt and Mundorf finished in second place with their time of 52.79 seconds.

The 4 400 meter relay team of Butler, H. Bargen, M. Bargen and Mundorf finished out of the points.

M. Heusinkvelt earned first place in the shot put with her toss of 40’6”. A. Hesusinkvelt nabbed third place with her toss of 37’. Lilly Edwards was in fifth place with her toss of 33’2.5”.

M. Heusinkvelt placed second in the discus with her throw of 111’8”. Reagan meyers was in fourth place with her throw of 107’11.5”. Mia Gardner also competed.

Meyers took second place in the high jump with her height of 4’10”. Cayce Barry also competed.

Butler and Jordan Duncan listed a fourth place tie for the pole vault with their height of 9’.

A. Heusinkvelt landed second place in the long jump with her leap of 15’7.5”. Kirchhoff was in seventh place with her leap of 14’4.5”.

Kirchhoff competed in the triple jump.

Trey Blau competed in the boys 100 meter dash.

Blau, Thomas Mathis and Pandu Mateus competed in the 200 meter dash.

Kyler Boyles and Mateus competed in the 400 meter dash.

Brayton Meyer took part in the 800 meter run.

Benjamin Kramp and Deylin Lawson competed in the 1600 meter run.

Mathis ran the 110 meter hurdles.

The 4 x 100 meter relay team of Boyles, Lincoln Sander, Blau and Dayne Clark were in seventh place with their time of 48.03 seconds.

The 4 x 400 meter relay team of Boyles, L. Sander, Mateus and Clark finished eighth with their time of 3:56.43.

Mathis finished in sixth place in the shot put with his 42.9.5” toss.

Boyles and Mateus also competed.

Clark picked up fourth place points in the discus with his 140’5.5” throw. Jaren Gilbert and Mason Korb both competed.

Sander held down third place in the long jump with his distance of 18’8.5”. Meyer and Dylan Edwards competed in the event.

Sander was in seventh place in the triple jump with his distance of 37”10”. Meyer and Edwards also competed.

The Wildcats close out their regular season schedule at the Fillmore Central Invitational, today (Thursday), at Geneva.
