RHHS track at Deshler meet

The Rock Hills High School boys and girls track and field teams competed at the Del Wicks Invitational at Deshler High School Thursday.

The girls team took fourth place, with 70 points, in the nine team field of Deshler, Meridian, Superior, Thayer Central, Exeter-Milligan-Friend, Lawrence-Nelson, Dorchester and Red Cloud. The boys team finished in third place with 78 points.

Bethany Simmelink crossed the finish line in first place with her time of 13.44 seconds. Halle Mizner was in fifth place with her time of 13.77 seconds. Grace Ayers finished in eighth place with her time of 14.74 seconds.

B. Simmelink added a first place finish in the 200 meter dash with her time of 28.02 seconds. Chloe Rothchild also competed.

Rothchild also competed in the 400 meter dash.

Alivia Lindberg landed eighth place in the 800 meter run with her time of 5:59.05.

Lindberg accounted for second place in the 1600 meter run with her time of 6:44.21. Peyton Zadina also competed in the event.

Zadina earned seventh place in the 3200 meter run with her time of 16:52.44.

The 4 x 100 meter relay team of Mizner, Savannah Coil, Ayers and B. Simmelink finished in second place with their time of 54.78 seconds.

The 4 x 800 meter relay team of Mizner, Lindberg, Coil and B. Simmelink procured second place with their time of. 11:56.85.

Faith Reinert took eighth place in the shot put with her toss of 30’1” Jayce Cady also competed in the event.

Cady competed in the discus throw.

Mizner claimed second place in the high jump with the height of 4’10”. Ayers scooped up second place in the long jump with her leap of 14’.

Coil secured second place in the triple jump with her combined distance of 30’8”. Carsyn Vizner also took part.

Isaiah Ridgeway claimed first place for the boys 100 meter dash with his time of 11.62 seconds. Camden Ward and Kaden Wurm competed in the preliminary heats but failed to advance to the final heat.

Spencer Lindberg competed in the 400 meter dash.

Cooper McDill was in first place in the 800 meter run with his time of 2:17.05. Justin Luong followed in second place with his time of 2:17.85. Kobi Bowers was in sixth place with the time of 2:23.24.

Trystyn Reynolds secured second place in the 1600 meter run with his time of 5:02.26. Bowers took fifth place with his time of 5:27.78. Luong came in sixth with his time of 5:41.07.

Lindberg finished in eighth place in the 300 meter hurdles with the time of 50.22 seconds.

The 4 x 100 meter relay team of Ridgeway, Ward, McDill and Nate Meyers claimed first place with their time of 46.89 seconds.

The 4 x 800 meter relay team of Reynolds, Luong, Bowers and McDill landed the first place points with their time of 9:06.58.

Eli Whelchel was in seventh place in the shot put with his toss of 36’10”. Mason Mains and Aaron Underwood also competed in the event.

McMains, Wurm and Draiden Ault competed in the discus throw.

Ward took second place in the high jump with the height of 5’6”.

Ridgeway returned a sixth place finish in the pole vault with his height of 9’6”.

Meyer held the top spot in the long jump with his leap of 19’1.5”.

The teams travel to Osborne Friday for the Osborne Invitational.
