The 2024 state Class C boys golf championship was off to a rocky start Tuesday. The event was scheduled to be contested Tuesday and Wednesday over the Elks Country Club course at Columbus. Mother Nature intervened on Tuesday and washed out the opening round. The event was then shortened to a one day, 18-hole affair.
Colten Butler, a sophomore, qualified for the event as an individual because of his ninth place finish in the district competition at Grand Island.
Butler shot an uncharacteristic round of 92, 20 over par, to place him in a tie for 67th place in the field of 98 golfers....
