Scott Andrew Marihugh, 49, of Esbon, died Thursday, Jan. 23, 2020, at Mitchell County Hospital in Beloit. He was born on Feb. 16, 1970 in Long Branch, N. J., to Glenn and Shirley (Hughes) Marihugh.

Scott was a 1988 graduate of Downs High School. He attended and graduated from North Central Kansas Area Vo-Tech School, Beloit, in the diesel mechanic program.

He married Sherry Dryden and to this marriage there were two children Cody and Trevor. He later married Jody Wherry and to this marriage there were four children, Bre, Lynnea, Rhys and Trey.

Scott was an employee of Landmark Implement, Smith Center. He then joined the family farm until his accident in 2016.

He was an avid hunter, fisherman, outdoorsman and for several years he owned and operated Wild Bird Outfitters.

He is survived by his six children, Cody Marihugh, Lincoln, Neb., Trevor Marihugh, Esbon, Bre Marihugh, Manhattan, Kan., Lynnea Marihugh, Savannah, Ga., Rhys Marihugh, Esbon, Trey Marihugh, Manhattan, Kan .; his mother, Shirley Marihugh, Esbon; four siblings, Brenda Seaman (Lon), Downs, Karen Loeffelman (Ed), St. Louis, Mo., Sandy Zabel (Steve), Chattanooga, Tenn., Mark Marihugh (Kathy), McPherson; aunt and uncle, Edgar and Veronica Marihugh; cousins, Ken Marihugh (Nancy), Linda Edwards (Stacey) and David Stouffer, numerous nieces, nephews and friends.

He was preceded in death by his father, Glenn Marihugh. and cousin, James Marihugh.

His funeral will be held at 10 a.m., today (Thursday), Jan. 30, at Esbon United Methodist Church, Esbon, with Pastor Rod Rose officiating. Burial will follow in the Odessa Cemetery, Rural Esbon.

Visitation was held from 1 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 29, at Melby Mortuary, Mankato, with family receiving friends from 6 to 8 p.m.
