SHS boys at tourney

The Superior High School boys basketball team dropped their consolation round game against Sandy Creek, 46-35, Friday. They lost a one-point heartbreaker, 58-57, to Smith Center, at Superior, Monday.

The Wildcats were tied with Sandy Creek at the half but were unable to pull away over the remainder of the game. Superior mounted a powerful fourth quarter come back attempt, down 45-34, but came up one point short when the final buzzer sounded.

Conner Blackstone was the high scorer against Sandy Creek with 12 points. Jackson Gilbert hit for 10 points. Hunter Healey scored seven points. Jordan Brown added four points. Seth Schnakenberg put up two points. Zeke Meyer hit the boards for 11 rebounds. Healey came away with five rebounds. Blackstone nabbed four rebounds. Brown, Gilbert and Meyer had two rebounds apiece. Jedd Whitmore landed a rebound

Healey hit for 26 points against Smith Center. Meyer tallied 11 points. Dane Miller and Blackstone added seven points apiece. Schnakenberg posted two points. Brown had one point. Miller and Schnakenberg wrestled away five rebounds apiece. Blackstone, Healey and Meyer collected four rebounds each. Brown nailed down three rebounds. Whitmore had two rebounds.

The Wildcats visit Nelson, Friday, to play Lawrence-Nelson.
