Brodstone's virtual Harvest Gala in this week's social spotlight

October 1, 2020

It was the intent of the Brodstone Memorial Hospital Foundation (BMHF) Gala Committee to host the 3rd Annual Harvest Moon Gala as they had in the two years prior, but a global pandemic caused their plans to change. After much consideration, for the safety of the attendees, they previously announced they were taking the event virtual. The Harvest Moon Gala committee has been at work making this virtual event come to life in order to continue their efforts of supporting Brodstone Memorial Hospital (BMH) and this Saturday all of their hard work will be live to donors and supporters, near and far.

The virtual event will kick-off on at 6 p.m.,Saturday with the launch of a virtual Welcome Program presented by Cory Kopsa and Treg Vyzourek. The program can be viewed on http://www.youtube.com by searching Brodstone Memorial Hospital, or at http://www.bidpal.net/hmg2020 and by clicking on ‘about the event’ from the menu toolbar. The video will also be posted on the Brodstone Memorial Hospital Facebook page.

Alongside the welcome program, the silent auction will be begin at 6 p.m. as well and stay open until 9 p.m. To browse and bid, you can find the auction by going to http://www.bidpal.net/hmg2020. All auction bidding will be done electronically through the Bidpal website.

At 7 p.m., the Golden Ticket winners will be announced on the Brodstone Facebook page via Facebook live. Winners will also be contacted by phone. At the time of print, tickets for the Superior Outdoor Power Center package and the Merry Maids package were still available for purchase. Tickets can be purchased from a Gala committee member up until 4 p.m., Saturday.

The silent auction will end at 9 p.m. Item pickup will take place at the BMH south entrance awning. Dates for pickup include: Oct. 4 from 12 to 4 p.m., Oct. 5 from 11a.m. to 1p.m. or 4 to7 p.m., or by appointment. Call Heather Erickson, 402-410-0096 for questions or to set up an appointment.

In order to bid one must visit http://www.bidpal.net/hmg2020 and sign in or sign up for an account. The process is simple and takes only a few minutes. If you attended the Gala last year, you can use the same account login. It will require a bidder to put their contact information in, which allows for easy access to bidding and check out. Once you are logged in, bidding can start. Your device will notify you if you have been outbid or won the item at the end of the evening. Check out will be done via your device. If you would like to check out another way, please reach out to Heather Erickson at 402- 410-0096.

As event day gets closer, the Gala committee continues to be reminded of the overwhelming support of the communities that Brodstone serves. Support from individual donors and businesses near and far has been received already and the committee is looking forward to a fun, successful virtual event. As a reminder, the proceeds from this year’s event will go to the development of the Brodstone Memorial Hospital Healing Garden. The garden will be a tranquil place of renewal and healing for patients and visitors alike. Patients undergoing infusion treatments will have a view of the garden from their infusion suites, families visiting their loved ones in hospital care will be able to get fresh air in the garden, new parents can take a stroll with their added bundle of joy during their stay, patients recovering from injury or surgery will benefit from the open-air environment and community members will have a place of peace and calming to gather. Though the development will be a part of the “new” construction, the garden will be paved in history — ”Honoring the past, building for the future.”

For all event details visit http://www.bidpal.net/hmg2020 or contact Heather Erickson at 402-410-0096. If you would like to make a monetary donation you can do so by donating directly through the Bidpal website or by sending a check to BMH Foundation at 520 E 10th Street, Superior, Neb. 68978.
