RHHS wrestlers head to regional meet

The four Rock Hills High School wrestlers, who compete with the Beloit Trojans team during the regular season as part of a cooperative program, competed at the KSHSSAA 3-2-1A District 3 sub-regional meet at Beloit Saturday.

As they enter post-season competition, they wrestle for Rock Hills. Three of the four team members advanced to the regional match at Hillsboro High School Friday. Matches begin at 3 p.m.

Rock Hills finished in seventh place, with 41, points in the 11 team field. Other schools participating at the event were Republic County, Beloit, Smith Center, Minneapolis, Ellsworth, Sylvan-Lucas, Ell-Saline, Osborne, Bennington and Lincoln.

Coe Nielson took second place honors in the 106 pound weight bracket. He was awarded 14 team points.

Connor Cosand finished second in the 120 pound weight bracket. He scored 14 team points.

Jacob Barry advanced to the regional match with his fourth place finish in the 138 pound weight bracket. He earned 10 team points for the Grizzlies.

Buck Luedke finished in sixth place in the 220 pound weight bracket. He earned three team points. He failed to advance to the regional meet.
