Karol Bonicamp

 


Karol Lynn Bonicamp, daughter of Dale and Treva Mahaffy of Mankato, Kan., was born in Beloit, on Oct. 15, 1942. She died at the Collier Hospice in Wheat Ridge, Colo., on April 18, after a long illness.

After graduating from Mankato High School, Karol received her license in cosmetology in Wichita, where she owned and operated her own shop before moving to take a management position at the High County Lodge in Breckenridge, Colo. After the lodge was sold, she enrolled in travel agency school and was employed by Voyageurs International in Wheat Ridge, Colo., for many years. She was one of the finest travel agents to be found anywhere and enjoyed her work with many thousands of clients.

Karol was preceded in death by her parents, Dale and Treva Mahaffy; husband, John Patrick Bonicamp; infant daughter, Patricia; brother-in-law, Rex Seirer; and nephew, Samuel Seirer. She is survived by her daughter, Mickey Mills and husband, Chris, of Denver, Colo.; son, John Patrick of Wheat Ridge, Colo.; stepson, Kevin Bonicamp and partner, Janette Torgerson, of Thornton, Colo.; sister, Twana Seirer of Mankato,; brother, Gil Mahaffy and wife, Carlyne, of Arvada, Colo.; grandchildren, Savanah and husband, Justin Henderson, of Thornton, Colo., Jacob and wife, Kenya Bonicamp, of Phoenix, Ariz.; great-grandchildren, Henry and Henslee Henderson and Lyle Bonicamp.

Because of the COVID-19 pandemic, a family memorial service is scheduled at a later date in Mankato.
