Rayne Biltoft has proved to be a steady player for the Superior girls golf team. She and her teammates are set to compete at the District C-1 state qualifying match at Lincoln Tuesday. The team looks to land a berth at the state tournament in their first year of play.

The Superior High School girls golf team keeps on rolling to success. The Wildcats took second place at the Fullerton Invitational last Tuesday. The 18-hole event was played over the Pawnee Hills Golf Course. Superior took second place in the nine team field with a score of 406. The four lowest team member scores are used to compile the team score. There were 42 golfers entered in the event.

Emma Henderson led Superior with her round of 97. That was good for the fifth place individual medal. Haley Blackstone was in seventh place with her round of 100. Neah McMeen took 11th place with her round of 103. Rayne Biltoft carded a round of 107 and 16th place. Nadia McMeen recorded a round of 124 for 32nd place.

The team closes out the regular season portion of their schedule with the Centura Invitational today (Thursday). The match will be played over the Centura Hills Golf Club course. Tee time is set for 9 a.m.

The quest for a berth at the state Class C tournament, to be played at the Elks Country Club at Columbus Oct. 11 and 12, begins with the district tournament being played over the Hidden Valley Golf Course at Lincoln.

The Wildcats are in a group with Auburn, Central City, Elmwood-Murdock, Exeter-Milligan, Fairbury, Heartland, Humboldt-Table Rock-Steinhauer, Johnson County Central, Lincoln Christian, Lincoln Lutheran, Palmyra, Syracuse and Tri County.

The team is looking to advance to the state match. Should the team not qualify, individual team members have the opportunity to qualify based on their individual scores.
