Verna Jane Lewis, the daughter of Don and Ann Shuck, was born on April 4, 1942 in Red Cloud. She died Sept. 26, at the Brodstone Memorial Hospital at Superior at the age of 79 years, 5 months, 22 days.

Jane started school in Red Cloud and finished in Superior. She was united in marriage to Max Lewis on June 22, 1958, at the Burr Oak Christian Church and this union was blessed with a son, Allen. Jane enjoyed visiting with friends at her son's store. She was a housewife and helped her husband, Max, on the farm.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Max, and brothers Eldon and Richard.

She is survived by her son, Allen, and wife Rose of Burr Oak; two step-grandsons, Christopher and Scotty; sisters, Rosella Campbell of Burr Oak, Linda Hendrick of Pampa, Texas; brothers, Rick Shuck of Amarillo, Texas, and Geno Shuck of Pampa, Texas; along with other relatives and a host of friends.

A graveside service was held at 2 p.m., on Friday, Oct. 1, from the Highland Cemetery, North Branch, with Jeff Ord officiating.

Visitation was held from 4 to 8 p.m. on Sept. 30.

Interment was in the Highland Cemetery, North Branch.

Memorials are suggested to go in care of the family.
