Donna Hansen

Donna Lee Hansen, the daughter of Joseph and Wilma (Gutscher) Boitnott, was born on July 9, 1935, near Burr Oak, Kan. She died Oct. 16, 2021 at the Blue Valley Lutheran Nursing Home at Hebron, Neb., at the age of 86 years, 3 months, 7 days.

Donna attended schools in Burr Oak and graduated from the Ruskin High School, Ruskin, Neb. She was baptized by the Rev. Harold Wilson at the Community Presbyterian Church in Ruskin. On May 24, 1953, she was united in marriage to Kenneth G. Hansen at the Community Presbyterian. To this union was born two children. She was a current member of the Bethany Lutheran Church in Ruskin.

Donna was a member of the Ruskin Legion Auxiliary Kohling Post 242 and the Ruskin Women's Club. She was active in her church, had many jobs outside of her home, including caring for shut-ins, always enjoyed children around her especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband Kenneth; and her son, Doug (Kristin); a great-granddaughter, Neveah Hansen; and a sister, Wilma Dominy.

Donna is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Dennis and Donna Rae Hansen of Tipton, Iowa; four grandchildren: Christian Hansen, Tonya Arellano, Jayme Garber and Corey Hansen; and 15 great-grandchildren; along with her brothers, Donald Boitnott of Rantoul, Ill., Larry (Carol) Boitnott of Lincoln, Neb., John (Betty) Boitnott of Hebron, Neb .; and a host of many nieces, nephews' other relatives and friends.

A graveside service was held at 2 p.m., on Wednesday, Oct. 20, from the Spring Creek Cemetery south of Ruskin, with the Rev. Steven Speichinger officiating.

Honorary pallbearers were Dennis Hansen, Christian Hansen, Tonya Arellano, Jayme Garber, Corey Hansen and all of Donna's great-grandchildren.

Inurnment was in the Spring Creek Cemetery at Ruskin.
